Below inflation payrise on offer for teachers?

There may be trouble in store this year if the government follows the current trend and offers a below inflation pay rise for teachers.

The current 3 year agreed deal has just come to an end, so it’s back to the negotiation table for the teachers unions. However, they are warning that the teachers will stand firm on pay, and are already planning walk-out actions ‘just in case’. It could be a difficult year for the government, with the industrial unrest recently in the police service and hospitals moving back to the schools.
