Facebook just too addictive
12 November 2007, by Heavens Paradox

We’ve all spent a few minutes reading personal email or checking our finances online while at work. Generally this takes very little time and doesn’t cause a problem. However, the use of social networking sites while at work could be costing businesses millions.
Many of us find sites such as Facebook and MySpace to be highly addictive, meaning we just have to check for updates even while at work - and the ‘quick look’ becomes much longer. This results in loss of productivity as hours are spent every day on social networking instead of working. Many businesses are now considering banning access from work networks which could result in less time wasted. However, it could also end up with many people leaving work early in order to spend more time at home instead.
