Golden memories of childhood
17 October 2007, by Heavens Paradox

Do children have a harder time of it today then they did even just 10 years ago? That’s what the findings of a recent study seem to be suggesting.
Most children are very aware of the pressures of modern day life - exams, crime, climate change, even the state of the economy. This applies a certain amount of pressure - but is this a bad thing? Some people hark back to the ‘golden years’ when children had all the time in the world to play in the streets & countryside, and were perfectly safe to do so! However, I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all.
There are always stresses in life, but there are a lot of positives in todays modern world as well. We are all generally more affluent, so most children are getting a better start in life than they could have expecetd 10 years go. I think children should be aware of what is happening around them and a more ’switched on’ generation can only be a good thing.
