Working shifts is bad for your health
21 January 2008, by Heavens Paradox

The modern trend to shift working is known to have health risks, but a new danish study shows there may be more problems for women than men.
The general risks of working overnight or irregular shifts affect both women and men and include stress, lack of sleep and hormonal disorders which can lead to a number of health problems. The study is inconclusive as to the exact cause of additional problems for women, but there are a number of speculations. The main one is that many women are under a double burden, with working overnight and then doing housework or looking after children during the day. This doesn’t give them the time off they need and so many more women end up taking early retirement due to ill health.
