Worst Storms this Winter in the UK
9 March 2008, by Heavens Paradox
Tomorrow has been described by Met Office forecasters as a day that could bring the worst storms of winter. They have issued weather warnings for much of England and Wales and expect severe gales and heavy rain to spread across England.
I for one am glad that I am only stepping out the door for a couple of hours and then can be indoors for the rest of the day.
They say parts of Southern England are at worst risk but they always seem to get things wrong at the Met Office. Flooding for coastal towns is a possibility and since I live about 3 miles from Cleethorpes it could mean we get some flooding.
I’m not too fussed about the weather but since it has been described as what could be the worst of the weather this year it has got me quite interested, I mean we’ve already had severe gales and flooding, I thought that was bad, so what is this weather going to do in terms of damage etc?
For anyone interested wind speeds are expected to be around 80 miles per hour so it could effect some properties and I expect it to effect the travel on Monday morning!
